Analysis of the Dermoepidermal Junction

Rete peg analysis is a ratio of the basal stratum to the granular stratum. The higher the ratio, the more rete pegs are present. The red line traces the dermoepidermal junction, which is healthier the more wavy it is.

Result: The left panel is the control sample. The right panel is the treatment sample, showing significant improvement in the structure of the dermoepidermal junction.

Collagen Type I

Collagen Density Analysis

Collagen I analysis uses color deconvolution algorithms to determine the intensity of DAB staining for collagen I. Higher intensity indicates higher collagen density.

Result: The left panel is the control sample. The right panel is the treatment sample, showing a significant increase in type I collagen density.

Elastin Analysis

Elastic Fiber Analysis

Elastin analysis uses color deconvolution algorithms to determine the intensity of Color Markup staining for elastin. Higher intensity indicates better quality of elastic fibers.
